1965 Fender Mustang Pickups

Fender Mustang pickups are the same as those used on Musicmasters and Duo-Sonics but different than those used on Stratocasters and Telecasters. Mustang pickups can be identified by flush pole pieces on both the top and the bottom faces of the bobbins. If the pole pieces stick out, they are most likely not the original Mustang pickups.
